How to make an invoice
Add your business and client details
Enter the sender and billing addresses, add your logo, and set an invoice number, invoice date and due date. Include a purchase order number or shipping address when needed.
List your products or services
Describe each item, enter the quantity and rate, and select your currency. Add a percentage or fixed discount, tax and shipping. The generator calculates the subtotal, total and outstanding balance.
Preview and download your PDF
Add payment instructions and a note for your client. Check the preview, then choose Download PDF. Attach the file to an email or share it with your client. A copy is saved in your local invoice history for editing later.

Is this invoice maker really free?
Yes. Creating invoices, downloading PDFs and saving templates are free. You do not need an account, subscription or credit card, and exported invoices have no INV watermark.
Can I add my logo and save an invoice template?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo and customise the accent colour and headings. Use Remember my details to reuse your business information and logo, or Save as template to keep your line items and preferences for future invoices.
Can I download an invoice as a PDF?
Yes. Choose Download PDF to save your invoice directly to your device. Both A4 and US Letter are supported, and longer invoices continue onto additional pages. You can also print from the preview. PDFs preserve the invoice as page images, so the text is not selectable.
Does the invoice generator calculate tax and discounts?
Yes. Enter a percentage or fixed amount for tax and discounts, add shipping and record any amount already paid. Discount is applied before tax, then shipping is added. Amounts are rounded to the selected currency's precision.
Can I use different currencies and invoice languages?
Yes. Select currencies such as GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD or INR. Invoice headings are available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch. Descriptions and addresses you enter are kept in your own words.
Where are my invoices saved, and how do I back them up?
Your draft, downloaded invoice history, logos and templates are saved in this browser on this device. In Invoice history, choose Export data to save a JSON backup and Import data to load it again. Export CSV creates a spreadsheet of invoice history. Export a backup before clearing browser or site data, as clearing it deletes locally saved invoices.
Can I send invoices or receive payments through INV?
Download your PDF and send it using your own email or messaging app. You can include bank details or other payment instructions on the invoice. INV does not email invoices, process payments or store invoices in a cloud account.
